The National Statistical Institute informs the users of statistical information that issue No. 12/2008 of the monthly Statistical Journal is already available. This monthly publication is realized in accordance with Eurostat recommendations about improving information activity and providing information on short-term statistical indicators, as well as offering information to users within a short period of time.
The issue contains an Information Index indicating methodological sources about the respective statistical surveys, and referring to the issues in which the respective chapters have been published, as well as providing information about NSI publications already issued and planned for 2008 and contact addresses. The publication presents an overall picture of country's development by months and quarters as well as annual data on main demographic, social and economic indicators.
The presented information is designed thematically by chapters, 7 of which are included in each issue, i.e. Industry, Domestic Trade, Consumer Price Indices, Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption, Exports and Imports, Finance and Credits, and Economic Conjuncture.
Data on industrial production indices and indices of industrial sales for two consecutive months (final data on preceding month and preliminary data on the current month), as well as monthly data on producer price indices on the domestic market are published in the Industry chapter.
Data on receipts from sales indices in 'Trade, repair of motor vehicles and personal and household goods' are published in the Domestic Trade chapter for two consecutive months (final data on preceding month and preliminary data on the current month).
The issue contains monthly data on consumer price indices, which are calculated on the basis of a monthly survey of real retail prices of goods and services provided to the population, according to the NSI consumer basket. Data from the monthly sample household budget surveys, and Income and Expenditure of Households, as well as the average per capita consumption of main foods are also given.
The Imports and Exports chapter contains data on the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Bulgaria, exports and imports by SITC sections, by countries and groups of countries etc.
Data on money supply, the Bulgarian National Bank exchange rate and interest rate, as well as bank claims on the government and non-government sector at the end of the period are included in the Finance and Credit chapter.
Topical information about the economic situation in the country is published on the basis of monthly business surveys of non-financial enterprises in the public and private sectors.
Besides, it incorporates information from the monthly sample household budget surveys, as well as data about the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Bulgaria, export and import by countries and groups of countries, by SITC sections and groups, etc.
The chapters, containing data on the demographic processes in the country, education, health, culture, justice, labor market, investments and construction, agriculture, transport and communications, financial status of enterprises in non-financial sector, international tourism, gross domestic product and newly created companies, one-man traders and cooperations are included in the edition depending on the periodicity of information.
In the issue No. 12/2008 are included chapters Gross Domestic Product, Labour Market, Investments, Construction, Justice and Agriculture.
Information sources are mainly the NSI statistical surveys. Data obtained from other offices and institutions, such as the Bulgarian National Bank, Ministry of Interior, etc. are also published.
